Ophelia Redpath print 2

In 2004 CSR commissioned the artist Ophelia Redpath to paint a picture which reflected the summer feel of the Festival. The painting 'Busking on the Backs' is the delightful result, showing musicians playing, appropriately, Handel's Water Music on the banks at the back of King's College Chapel, Cambridge.

An image of this painting was used as the cover of our brochure and programme, and a limited number (400) high-quality copies of the painting itself were printed. The print is A 3 size including white border ( 297mm x 420mm). Each copy is signed and numbered.

Ophelia Redpath

Although with a style all of her own, Ophelia is following in the footsteps of her famous grandparents, Brenda Moore (c.1915-1996) and Leonard Campbell Taylor (1874-1969). With this heritage and a grounding in art at Cambridge, she has gone on to establish herself as a highly successful painter. In the last ten years, she has exhibited regularly in many solo and mixed shows, nationally and internationally. Ophelia has a vivid imagination but is inspired by her academic and artistic background; her life amidst the Cambridge Colleges; her travels both here and abroad.

In 2006 The Summer Music Festival’s cover was also by Ophelia Redpath ‘Powdered Wigs and Pastorals’ and this too is now available as a print.
