Cambridge Summer Music
Fauré at twilight
- Jeremy Thurlow – piano
- Robin Kirkpatrick – reader
Fauré‘s late Nocturnes are a unique and moving testament to this composer’s extraordinary spiritual journey, one which took him into deep and strange waters as he continued to explore an increasingly personal sound-world in his old age. Jeremy Thurlow plays five of these wonderful works, atmospherically interspersed with dark, introspective poetry from Gerard Manley Hopkins, Hardy, Rossetti, Tennyson and Arnold.
