Cambridge Summer Music
Aurora Orchestra
Aurora Orchestra’s reputation for inventive programming and electrifying live performance has established it amongst the most dynamic forces in British classical music, bringing together some of the UK’s most exciting young soloists in a virtuosic and versatile ensemble. Teaming up with the London-based capoeira dance group Cordão de Ouro featuring founder Mestre Ponciano Almeida, the music will include Rameau’s Suite from Platée, Stravinsky’s Danses Concertantes, Balakirev’s Islamey and In-Flight Entertainment, Pärt’s If Bach Had Been A Bee-Keeper and Julian Anderson’s Khorovod. With Afro-Brazilian martial dance in a pulsating evening of music and movement, this will be a performance quite unlike anything you’ve seen before.
